Hey all,
Because the poll was tied, Britton and I have chosen the winning female name from the two that were tied. The name is Talwyn! Congrats to Blythe for submitting it!
Also, we will be putting up the male poll VERY SOON, so submit any last-minute name ideas that you have.
Remember to spread the word about this blog.
Thanks,
Anna
I chose this title because one of my first books is called "Cloudy and the Missing Diamond". I would really enjoy it if you post comments and feedback on my stories.

Here's the excerpt:
“I am going to cast a protection spell on you, so that we can do a quick duel without getting hurt.” Gerard said.
“Duel? Already? You’ve hardly taught me anything.” Miram exclaimed
“Well the best way to learn is to just try it out. Same with the spells I have taught you.”
“Oh, well…” Miram said nervously. “I guess we could try.”
Gerard did the protection spell and they proceeded to the duel.
“Go.” Gerard shouted.
Miram started rushed after Gerard and quickly did a defensive move as Gerard started to hammer Miram with his sharp sword. Miram thought fast and dodged the blow and moved into the stance that Gerard had showed him.
Miram blocked the next jab Gerard sent his way and counter attacked by jabbing back. Luckily, one of his jabs hit Gerard, but only slightly in the thigh. Gerard quickly reacted to the attack and slashed Mirams forehead, leaving a river of blood streaming down his nose and dripping off onto the ground. Miram slashed back, missing Gerard. Then he changed back to the defensive stance quickly. Gerard threw a jab that nearly hit Miram. Miram took the opportunity to slash back, but the attack was dodged in a fast jumping motion by Gerard. During the motion, Gerard slashed Miram waist, leaving him crippled. Gerard removed the protection spell and Mirams wounds healed.
The duel was over.

Character Name Contest
Hello all,
Britton and I need some new ideas for some names of characters in our book. We need both male and female names. Also, kudos to you if you can think of some clever names for dragons.
Please comment your name ideas below.
Here is how the contest works:
- Comment your male, female, and dragon names in the comments.
- Britton and I will look at the names and pick some of our favorite ones.
- We will then create a poll/survey on the blog to have viewers vote on their favorites from the ones that we picked.
- The BEST names WILL be in our book!

Here is an excerpt from a novel that I am working on with Britton Kemp. Please comment and tell me what you think, suggestions, etc. Also, we will be having a poll soon about some of the names for our characters, so keep checking the blog.
Miram woke up, he was freezing cold. It was too cold to try and go back to sleep so he decided to practice his spells. He could move almost everything, except the cottage and the shack. He couldn't make them disappear either.
He was about to go back to bed when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned around just in time to see a figure dash behind a tree. It was so quick that Miram was unsure if he had actually seen it or if it was just his imagination. He stared at the tree. Then, he saw it again, this time more clearly. It seemed to be a small figure wearing black and green-spotted clothing.
“The clothes must be some type of camouflage.” Miram thought. “But why would this person want to hide from me?”
Miram hurried into his shack and grabbed his sword. Then, he rushed into the forest after the figure. Occasionally, he caught glimpses of the person, enough to know the direction which they were headed. He saw the clearing up ahead, and he knew he had a choice to make. Gerard had said to never pass the clearing. But, Miram felt confident in his experience, and he was curious about the figure he was following, so he continued on.
Miram was worried, it had been roughly fifteen minutes since he had last seen the figure, and he was afraid that he had lost it.
That fear faded quickly though, because in front of him, he saw a dragon. It was a huge, winged beasts with thousands of turquoise scales protecting its body. It had a long neck with red eyes and razor sharp fangs.
In that moment, Miram wished that he would never have passed the clearing.
Please comment with your feedback.
Thanks,
Anna
